SHOWROOM OPENING TIMES
The Modern Bathroom for 2017
Gone is the minimal approach to bathroom design. In comes personality and character. 2017 promises to be the year that your bathroom becomes a fun place to shower!
I. Statement Furniture
At Komandor Storage Solutions, we are all about making a statement with fitted furniture so we are pleased to see that bathroom designers agree that for 2017, making a statement in the bathroom starts and end with the furniture!
Sit your crisp, white porcelain bowl on a fantastic cupboard, in any style, colour and finish that you love. Make sure it has the right storage solutions for you, and you have a fantastic bathroom.
II. The Freestanding Tub is Back
… but we don’t think it ever really went away. There is something luxurious, dreamy and decadent about a freestanding bath. Choose any style, from the claw-footed bath with a gap beneath it and the floor or opt for one that sits directly on the floor.
III. Patterned Tiles
If there is one bathroom trend for 2017 that really excites us, it is the passion for patterned tiles that seems to be gripping the nation.
Patterned tiles can be used in the kitchen too. But if you think patterned tiles will overpower the small space, use the pattern tile on the floor with a matching colour tile on the walls to lighten and open up the space.
IV. Dark, Moody Walls
Only for the brave but we must admit the effect is stunning. Dark and moody walls is the bathroom trend for 2017 that raises eyebrows but we think, create an effect that adds glamour and detail to the often-smallest room in the house.
If you are not brave enough to opt for dark, moody coloured tiles – a more ‘permanent’ addition to your bathroom – paint a wall or portion of a wall instead. Opt for black, navy or a dark, very earthy green.
V. Wall-Mounted Taps
It is an emerging trend and one that was common place many years ago but, we think, making a welcome return.
Instead of taps on bathroom furniture, opt to have taps coming out of the wall. They add a certain level of luxury to the bathroom…
VI. Unusual Light Features
The bathroom, known for its high moisture content, tends to be last on the list when it comes to stylish inventions. Lighting, at one time, had to be closed units so that steam and moisture could not penetrate to the inner electrical workings.
But there are an increasing number of fantastic light fittings coming to the market specifically for the bathroom and we think they are a fantastic way of adding much needed light and more than a pop of style into a space.
