SHOWROOM OPENING TIMES
PART 1 - Which Of These Interior Design Trends 2019 Will You Try?
We’ve been keeping our ear to the ground to see exactly what 2019 could be offering is in the way of trends. We take a look at the top 10 predictions, starting with five in this first blog of two.
#1 Compact, multifunctional furnishings
Not many of us are blessed with acres of interior space and with new build properties just about meeting the standards for dimensions and room sizes, it is no wonder, perhaps, that we see compact, multifunctional furniture on the list.
Thankfully, however, pieces of furniture of this nature don’t have to be devoid of style. If you want to make a statement with your furniture, no matter how small it may be, how many functions it has – aren’t we describing fitted furniture here? – you can make a fantastic stylistic impact with it.
#2 Multi-functional spaces
We have all seen the tiny apartments where you can do your washing up sat on your bed and whilst there are certainly issues about how and why we should need to live like this, it has sparked an idea about how to use space better in a home.
And so one of the interior design trends 2019 predicted to be big is the growing tide of multifunctional spaces. Maybe this is the trend that will catch on which means that we all make more of the space we have, not confining certain tasks or activities to a room with walls.
#3 Character is back with boho
For too long, it feels like the minimalist, streamlined look has been the go-to style and whilst it has its places and its fans, there is something lacking in character that means it is always carried off with the aplomb it deserves.
Thankfully, if you have been striving without success to meet the minimalist style but have failed, you can breathe a sigh of relief because the layered chicness of boho is back.
Perfect for adding layers, textures and colours that you love without having to defend your choice, boho promises to be the interior design of 2019 that we will all love.
#4 Glass could be the material
Occasionally, something comes along that takes our breath away and yet, in order to so, it doesn’t have to be anything big, different or clever.
And in some ways, this is exactly what the feathered glass accessories and tables we have seen making their way into designer’s collections. Could it catch on? It could but it comes with a rather big price tag.
#5 Nightwatch green
We have seen some super dark shades in recent years but the surprise colour that we think will be making a big statement in interior design 2019 is a darker, moodier, muddier green that designers have been calling Nightwatch green.
Perfect for sitting alongside the brass and gold accessories and finishes that we have grown to love, something else that is promising to hang around for the coming year.
