Making a Design Statement with Modern Office Storage
From a busy office space, to a home study, the need for modern office storage has never been greater. But, like many other rooms, the office has changed in recent years. The things that need storing and archiving have changed.
We may be doing more things via the PC and the internet, but there are still some physical aspects to running an office that require clever, modern office storage solutions. Gone are the days too, when the expectations were that the office would be boringly functional, with no signs of colour, life or style.
The key to stylish modern office storage
- Look up!
The key to functional but stylish storage is to utilise the space available.
For example, above the head storage is an important area that is often overlooked. But, before you cry ‘health and safety!’ and assume ladders will be the order of the day, think again.
Items that do not need to be accessed on a regular basis can be safely stored in labelled boxes, and place above the head.
- Free the floor!
The easiest place to store things is to shove them in a box and simply leave them in a corner somewhere. The problem with this is that this one box suddenly multiplies and, whilst you were not looking, has become a mountain of boxes and things wasting space in a room.
De-cluttering and understanding what you have to store is an important process of getting the best solutions.
- Everything in its place
And this is the concept of de-cluttering and organising. This is effectively contributes to a modern office not only being a pleasant place to work, but an organised productive one too.
Non-frequently needed items should be stored above the head, items that are needed regularly should be at floor level but in stylish cupboards and not on the floor.
Items that are needed daily should be eye level and this is why modern office storage solutions always have shelving, cupboards, alcoves and so on at the point in front of the body that is within easy reach.
