6 Tips to Bring 2019 Trends to Your Kitchen
As the heart of the home, many of us choose to focus our attention on the kitchen making it both a stylish and functional space. Whether you are looking to revamp the entire kitchen this coming year or add some key features that bring it up to date, we have the kitchen trends for 2019.
The kitchen range
The large oven and 6-hob range – such as those made by Aga – is here to stay. If you have the room in your kitchen, the large oven range can be the statement piece of the room. with the news that Dolce & Gabbana and Smeg have teamed up to produce a range, it will be worth keeping an eye out as to what they produce in terms of the range oven.
Dark kitchen cabinetry
There is still place for the crisp, clean lines of white kitchen cabinets but if you have a leaning for the latest trend in terms of cabinetry, then the darker colour will appeal to you.
From chalky shades of navy to very dark wood, there are a few options out there. With the navy cabinets, we love its pairing with dusky pink walls and pretty copper accessories.
The must-have metallic finish is still brass
Take no more than a cursory glance at the home improvement exhibitions and you will notice that the metallic finish still bang on trend is brass. If you re-designing your kitchen in 2019, stick with brass taps and other finishes, a fantastic finish alongside many of the darker coloured kitchen cabinetry we’ve been seeing.
The surprise material for the kitchen is concrete
Some people deride concrete for being environmentally damaging with some any resources and water needed to make it BUT, say those on the other side of the argument, its longevity means that it will outlast most other materials. In other words, over time it gives back in terms of it not being replaced.
Concrete can be moulded into all kinds of shapes and forms. Alongside smooth, polished pristine concrete worktops we’ve seen some interesting concrete basins and sinks. However, will it look colossal and outdated in a few years’ time…?
The must-have kitchen style? Opt for the industrial
Farmhouse, rustic, Scandinavian – you name it, and most interior design trends have touched on the kitchen but the one that seems here to stay is the industrial kitchen style.
Partly linked, we think, to the must-have brass finish, there is a utilitarian flavour to this style that makes it perfect for the kitchen. the way we cook and prepare food has changed in recent years and so with less deep fat frying, glass and other reflective materials tend to stay cleaner for longer.
Add colour to the industrial style in the kitchen with yellow walls and you have an on-trend kitchen that will last for years to come.
Add character with splashback glory
It may be a small surface behind the taps and kitchen sink but it can make a fantastic feature in the kitchen. As well as coloured glass, there is also a growing range of beautifully patterned tiles to make a feature of the splashback.
Which of these ideas will you try?
